CHILD PROTECTION

Our children’s welfare is important to each of us.  Our goal is to provide a safe environment free from abuse, including sexual abuse.  Ogilville Christian Church has implemented policy and procedures that we believe provide reasonable and prudent care in this area.  We want all who supervise and care for our children to understand the seriousness and scope of the issue, to understand the church’s policy, agree to abide by it, and to accept the inconvenience that comes with screening all childcare providers.

Check In/Out Procedure

Our Children's classes for kids age 2 through grade 5 are located in the Fellowship Hall (basement) of the church. Upon arrival, parents escort their child to the Kid's Check-in station in the Fellowship Hall or Check-In beforehand using the KidCheck App. If utilizing the KidCheck App to check in, the printers are located in the OCC Welcome Center Upstairs. If checking in downstairs, using one of the touch screen monitors, and follow quick and easy directions to check in their child.  A name tag for the child and a claim ticket for the parent will print, each with the same identifying number.  From there, following the signs and/or directions from a Children's Ministry Leader, parents take their child to the age appropriate classroom.  If a child needs their parent during the adult service, the child's number will appear on the visual display on the wall in the sanctuary.  By referring to the claim ticket printed at check-in, parents will know if there is a need for them to return to their child's classroom.  At the end of the adult service, the parent will return to the door of their child's classroom with their physical guardian claim ticket or KidCheck app guardian claim ticket.  The teacher will scan the parents guardian claim ticket and dismiss the child to the parent’s care.
